The right house - at the right price

When buying a house, it’s about finding the right home – at the right price. Many first-time homebuyers are wondering about how to avoid overpaying.

Good real estate agents take pride in getting the absolutely best deal possible for their clients. After all, happy clients are lifelong clients! You as buyer can help moving the negotiations for your dream house in the right direction, too!

  1. Compare: Before writing an offer, search for comparable houses. Include both active properties and closed transactions. Similar properties should compare in age, size of building and lot, number of rooms. Total sales price is more important than price per square foot.

  2. Don’t overpay: Comparing properties should give you an indication about a fair sales price and make sure you are not overpaying on your dream house and make sure the property passes an appraisal.

  3. Ask your real estate agent for help when it comes to negotiations.

Getting your dream home at a fair price is important – especially in a competitive market like Snohomish County.
