If you are trying to sell your condo or a home in a homeowners association, certain documents have to be transferred to the buyer, resulting in fees you might not have thought about. It can be helpful to evaluate these cost and calculate accordingly!

  • HOA Documents: Rules and regulations, Recorded Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (CC&Rs), Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws and any amendments have to be legally delivered to the buyer
  • Resale Certificate: In most cases, the seller has to order a Resale Certificate with information on the unit for sale from the HOA
  • HOA Transfer Fee: Lots of sellers are caught by surprise by a transfer fee to transfer the documents from the seller's to the buyer's name.
