Living on Beverly Lake in Everett WA

Beverly Lake is a small body of water in the central portion of the city of Everett Washington in Snohomish County. It is roughly 10ish minutes from Everett's original and historic downtown core which is located within the Bayside neighborhood. This small lake is little known and a true hidden gem for peaceful and quiet waterfront living in Everett. Some people that have lived in the Everett area their whole lives may be unaware that this small and peaceful lake exists.

This may be because the lake, although not owned by a particular neighborhood or housing community (or person) is a private residential lake with no public access. It offers affordable waterfront living with a variety of home types in one of Western Washington's most desirable areas to live.

More About the Lake

Beverly Lake, sometimes referred to as Mud Lake, itself is small and private and a very well-kept secret to many tucked right into the center of activity in Everett. Only those who own a home around the lake are able to get to Beverly Lake. The lake does not allow for any motorized watercraft. Though it is in the middle of the city it is full of local wildlife including fish, ducks, raccoons, and squirrels on the tiny island in the middle of the lake, there are also geese that stop by once a year, a heron that only comes out at night, and a bald eagle.

Though the lake does not permit watercraft with motors residents around the lake find several ways to enjoy the water. Fishing is fun at the lake. Canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards are perfect for exploring the calm waters with plenty of room. Several residents love to get out their floats and just relax while laying out in the lake. Then of course there are plenty of people that enjoy a swim on warm summer days.

Things to Do Nearby

I could go on forever about all of the things there are to do within just a 20-minute radius of this "central" Everett location. The city of Everett holds a vast number of activities with its location on Port Garder Bay, proximity to Mukilteo and the Whidbey Island ferry, location near the farms and old town Snohomish, as well as close to many great shopping and entertainment areas including Alderwood Mall, the famous outlet shops in Marysville at the Seattle Premium outlets, and everything the city of Seattle has to offer just a little over 20 minutes to the south on 1-5.

Let's talk a little about the modern amenities right down the street from Beverly Lake. There is a Starbucks coffee just steps from the homes surrounding Beverly Lake on the intersection of Evergreen Way and 75th. If you are ever in the mood for a fancy coffee or other refreshing dressed-up drink and a snack you can just take a quick walk to the end of the block. Almost across the street on Evergreen Way is a Safeway shopping center that also has a Ross store and a large Planet Fitness center. Evergreen Way itself is a mecca of retail stores, restaurants, grocery stores, medical offices, and more.

Don't forget about the many local parks near the neighborhood. The closest park is Lion's Park. Featuring a large play structure, walking trails, plenty of green space, accessible features for anyone with physical challenges, exercise/workout equipment, and more in three acres.

Homes Around the Lake

On the north and west sides of Beverly Lake are single-family properties where it is not uncommon to find a private dock on the lake in the backyard. Homes sizes start at a spacious 2,200 square feet. The island in the middle of the lake is split between the single-family house communities. On the south and east portions of the lake, you can find some apartments and all of the condo communities which include Village by the Lake, Lakeside, Boardwalk I & II, and Park Place. Each of these communities includes its own amenities in addition to the use of the lake such as private swimming pools, reserved parking, extra storage, and fitness rooms.
