The Delta Neighborhood of Everett WA
The Delta Neighborhood is one of the oldest, longest-standing areas of the city. Its earliest days are around the early 1900s. Since then the neighborhood has seen quite a bit of change and it now offers a great mix of home types and price points with the most amazing mountain views.
Though Delta is just seconds from I-5 access and bordered by one of North Everett's major roadways it remains a quiet neighborhood full of hidden gems, diverse people, and the ability to be downtown in less than five minutes.
Where is the Delta Neighborhood?
The Delta neighborhood is located in the very northeast corner of the peninsula that makes up the northern boundaries of the city of Everett. It is named for the location along the banks of the Snohomish River Delta. This is a network of sloughs and marshes that all come together and eventually run out to the Port Gardner Bay and Puget Sound.
The north and east border of the neighborhood is the Snohomish River, Broadway makes up the western border, and 19th Street rounds it out to the south.
Rich History of the Delta Neighborhood
In its earliest days, the first residents that settled into the area around the Snohomish River in the area utilized the mud from the riverbanks to create bricks to build the first structures and homes. Some of these buildings are still standing today. The eastern block of 8th Street was utilized by the Weyerhauser Company to build homes for its millworkers in 1916. This portion of the neighborhood was designated as a historic district in Everett in 1994. Wiggums Hollow Park
Wiggums Hollow Park is located on 10th Street. It is a large park named after a former principal of an elementary school in the neighborhood. Fun Fact, he was the uncle of the creator of the Simpsons Show and his sister Margeret (the creator's mother) was the inspiration for the character Marge. But back to the park. The park is larger offering several acres of lush green space, a waterfall, sports fields and courts, picnic areas, a playground, and a skate park.
Jackson Park
Senator Henry M. Jackson Park is at 18th St. and includes 14 acres of outdoor space in the neighborhood. There are baseball and soccer fields as well as a playground and basketball hoops. There is also a community garden where residents of the neighborhood can take part in gardening skills. There are plenty of walking and jogging paths morning through the park as well.

Broadway also quickly carries people from North Everett into other areas of Everett including the Memorial Stadium where the AquaSox play and high school sports take place.
Everett Waterfront
The Everett waterfront on Port Gardener Bay is one of the city's most popular spots and it is just across the peninsula from the Delta neighborhood. The waterfront is about 5 to 10 minutes from Delta depending upon the area of Delta you are traveling from. You can find the newly popular Everett summer farmer's market. The long-standing Anthony's Home Port overlooks all of the ships in the Marina right on the water, a public boat launch, the Everet Naval Station, and the ferry boat to the fun and unspoiled Jetty Island.
