Glacier View Neighborhood in Everett WA

Glacierview is one of Everett's original major neighborhoods. This large and substantial portion of Everett is on the southern border of downtown Everett. It is most recognizable for its location along South Broadway and for its gorgeous views of the cascade mountains from many of the homes. The boundaries for Glacierview include 41st Street on the north, I-5 to the East., Evergreen Way to the west, and 62nd Street South East locking up the southern boundary.

The neighborhood has one of the most active neighborhood associations in the city of Everett and there is much community pride in this area. Living in Glacier View gives you the convenience of walk-ability to several business hubs from a large number of homes and quick access to everything in downtown Everett as well as roadways that quickly enable you to access Everett's major employers as well as Interstate Five for commuting into neighboring towns and large cities in western Washington.

Hotspots in and Around the Neighborhood

Everett Golf and Country Club

The Everett Golf and Country Club is a long standing piece of Everett recreation. The club opened in 1910. This is a members only club featuring a golf course, pool, dining, social and holiday events and more. 

The Totem Inn Restaurant

Local favorite restaurant, the Totem Inn which has been an Everett landmark (everyone who grew up in Everett loves this place) is on the edge of the neighborhood on Evergreen Way. If you want to experience a true local neighborhood restaurant this is it. 

Evergreen Lanes Bowling Alley

If you enjoy a game of bowling on weeknights or on the weekends Evergreen Lanes is in the neighborhood just a block away from the country club and almost like an Everett landmark along Everegreen Way. Many families have fond memories of playing in a bowling league or kids meeting friends on a weekend night.

Wienerschnitzel

This fast food restaurant is not the only location in the world, but it has been here on Evergreen Way for so long that it is inconic and has a large group of regulars. There was once talk of taking it down and locals began to mourn before it ever happened. 

Everett's Newest YMCA 

For physical activity the whole family can enjoy in one place there is a fairly new YMCA within the neighborhood on Colby. The center includes an aquatic facility, fitness rooms, and plenty of classes and activities. Right next to the YMCA is a new community park with fun play structure and open green space to enjoy. 

Interurban Trail

If you like to be active and enjoy the gorgeous natural surroundings check out the Interurban Trail. This is a paved walking, skating, biking, etc trail the winds past the Everett Mall, the Alderwood Mall, through the cities of  Mountlake Terrace, Lynwood, Shoreline, Edmonds, and finally makes its way into Seattle. This trail has many great stops along the way and winds for miles and miles. The trail winds its way through Glacier View and is within walking distance of homes on the east side of the neighborhood. 

Forest Park

Forest Park is the largest and possibly oldest park in the city of Everett. The park is located at  802 East Mukilteo Blvd. Coming from I-5 on 41st St (the street on the north boundary of Glacier View). The road turns into Mukilteo Boulevard as you head west toward the water/ shoreline. You will see the entrance to the park on the left.

Forest Park has long been a favorite public park hot spot of Everett residents and several people in Snohomish County. Forest Park has seen some changes in the last year's it currently offers a large and popular water playground/splash pad, several picnic areas, a large playground, open grass area, sports courts, rentable meeting halls, tennis courts, walking trail access, and more.

Glacier View Public Schools

The public schools serving the students living in Glacier View are part of the Everett School District. Specific Schools that offer educational services to the neighborhood include Lowell Elementary School, Evergreen Middle School, and Everett High School. Everett High School is steeped in community pride an tradtion. The school istelf is partially housed in one of Everett's most impressive historic buildings.

Homes in Glacier View come in a wide variety of styles, sizes, and price points. One of the most deirable areas to live in Glacier View is along the south end of Colby, which is one of north Everett's most important roads. The south end of Colby is home to large brick homes that overlook the valley and give amazing mountain views. The yards are a great size and homes are walking distance to the YMCA. There is a large number of single-family properties in Glacier View from the generous impressive brick homes on Colby to well-kept older bunglows that would make for the most charming starter homes.
