The Lake Stickney Neighborhood in Everett WA

A quiet lake tucked into almost a hidden corner of south Everett, right next to the neighboring and highly desirable cities to live of Mukilteo and Lynnwood. In between two major roadways, the traffic and noise fade and disappear. You don't really notice you are in a bustling part of the geography. This is Lake Stickney. A collection of residential homes near a small lake that some people go their whole lives not realizing is there. The ability to commute to work in larger cities easily or have a short 20-minute or less drive to Everett's major employers. 

Hot Spots in and Near the Neighborhood

Lake Stickney and Lake Stickney Park

The neighborhood is sort of centered around the lake. Lake Stickney is 25 acres and allows non-motorized watercraft. It has become a popular spot to fish and kayak. It is a great spot for paddleboarding and canoeing as well. The park surrounding the lake is newly updated with plenty of green space to enjoy and walk around the lake. 

Alderwood Mall

Alderwood Mall is located in Lynnwood WA within 15 minutes from Lake Stickney. This shopping mall is one of the most popular shopping destinations in Snohomish County. At Christmas, the area experiences a large increase in visitors from other nearby cities including Everett, Snohomish, Mukilteo, Whidbey Island, Marysville, Lake Stevens, and more. The mall features both an indoor shopping area and an open-air shopping center. You can find many popular national retailers and restaurants including Nordstrom, REI, Macy's, Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang's, and hundreds more. There are several shopping centers surrounding the mall as well that have more national stores such as Home Goods, Old Navy, and Best Buy. 

City of Mukilteo

The Mukilteo waterfront is about 10 minutes east of Lake Stickney on the coast of Puget Sound. Mukilteo's waterfront area is famous for the Mukilteo Lighthouse Park a small collection of restaurants and the ferry terminal. The park has a boat launch into the sound, a play structure, a beach, barbeque areas, and the iconic Mukilteo Lighthouse which is available to explore and tour. Some of the popular restaurants on the waterfront include one of the most popular Ivar's locations in Washington with both a fish bar and upscale waterfront dining venue. This is also the place to hop on the ferry and take a short ride across the water to Whidbey Island. 

Paine Field

Paine Field is located inside the neighborhood boundaries and the neighborhood is often labeled as the Paine Field-Lake Stickney neighborhood. Paine Field is a large airfield with a new commercial airport terminal that neighbors the Everett Boeing Plant, one of the area's largest employers. There are many great things to do in this portion of the city including the High Trek Adventures Seattle where you can enjoy ziplining and ropes courses. 

Lake Stickney Schools

Schools that serve the youngest members of the community are part of the Mukilteo School District. Mukilteo School District has charge over 23 total schools including 5 high schools, 4 middle schools, 13 elementary schools, and 3 preschools. More than half of the schools receive average and above-average ratings. 

Real Estate in Lake Stickney

Lake Stickney offers a mixture of home types including single-family and condo properties. There are many great condo communities in the the area. There are some great subdivisions within walking distance of the lake including Admiralty Manor, a community of detached condo properties within a gated secure location. The Heritage at Deer Creek gated condo community is also in this area offering both townhomes and condos that back to a protected creek. Single-family homes in this area sell quickly, many built in the 1990s offering around 2,000 square feet with multiple-car garages.
