The Madison Neighborhood in Everett WA

Are you looking for a quiet and almost "unseen" neighborhood of Everett? One that offers great outdoor spaces, views of the water, close proximity to the beach, and close proximity to local hotspots all while offering great schools and sizable homes? Well then, you need to check out Everett's Madison neighborhood. It spans from the Port Gardner Bay shoreline between two portions of one of the best parks to the borders of Evergreen Way, one of Everett's local restaurant and business hubs.

What's Nearby

Parks

If outdoor recreation is something you love and you want to be near great public parks this is the neighborhood to live in. Howarth Park is on either side of the north end of the neighborhood, and Forest Park, Everett's largest park, is just a mile to the east.

Howarth Park is just off Mukilteo Boulevard just before the road takes a sharp turn to the left. The park has two different levels. The first area you drive up to from the main roadway is on the hillside overlooking the water. The second area of the park can be accessed either by trails at the top portion of the park or by driving further down the road. The cliffside portion features fun play structures, green space, and amazing views of the water. The lower portion leads you on a footbridge over the train tracks and provides a staircase down to the beach.

Forest Park is the largest and possibly oldest park in the city of Everett. The location of the park is 802 East Mukilteo Blvd. From the neighborhood, you only have to access Mukilteo Blvd and head back toward Evergreen Way and it will be on the right side. Forest Park has long been a favorite public park hot spot of Everett residents and many people in Snohomish County. Forest Park offers a large water playground/splash pad, several picnic areas, a large playground, open grass area, sports courts, rentable meeting halls, tennis courts, walking trail access, and more.

Evergreen Way

Evergreen Way is one of the main thoroughfares in Everett. The road makes up the southeast border of the neighborhood. Along Evergreen Way, you will find grocery shopping in smaller stores like QFC or large one-stop shops like Fred Meyer, fast food restaurants, and local favorite restaurants like the Totem Inn which has been an Everett must. You will not regret making the Totem your go-to Saturday breakfast spot. Other great restaurants on Evergreen include beloved local Memos Mexican Restaurant, and Lanna Thai is a favorite for Thai food.

Mukilteo and the Ferry

Mukilteo Boulevard just as the name implies will take you right into the waterfront area of  Mukilteo. In the popular waterfront portion of the city is the Lighthouse Beach Park as well as a handful of great restaurants and the ferry terminal for the Whidbey Island. One of the most iconic restaurants on the Mukilteo waterfront is the Ivers at Mukilteo Landing. Mukilteo Boulevard is like your backstage access to Mukilteo. The road winds along the shoreline, it is a beautiful and fun drive.

I-5 Access

Access to I-5 is fairly quick depending upon the time of day and very easy. Following Mukilteo Boulevard to the east, it becomes 41st and there is an onramp of both north and southbound I-5 here.

Public Schools

The schools serving the youngest members of the community are part of the Everett Public School District. Specific schools assigned to the neighborhood include Madison Elementary and View Ridge Elementary which are both located within the neighborhood boundaries. Older students attend North Middle School or Evergreen Middle School and Everett High School.
