The Martha Lake Neighborhood in Everett

Martha Lake is a residential neighborhood located in south Everett. It is so far south that Everett's official city boundaries blur into Lynnwood's northern boundaries. The area is named for the small lake that is located here which is called Martha Lake. The northern area around the lake and stretching to the back side of McCullom Park is in Everett, though some homes may carry a Lynnwood address and postal code. 

The neighborhood offers a chance for waterfront and quiet parkside living in one of Snohomish County's most bustling areas. There is a wide range of home styles and it just might be one of Everett's hidden gem locations.

The Lake

 The actual Martha Lake can be accessed on E Shore Drive off of 164th St. The lake features a walking trail that winds around the lake, a swimming area, a dock, wetland boardwalks, picnic area, fishing spots, play structure and more. The lake in in the south end of the Martha Lake neighborhood. 

McCollum Park

McCollum Park is on the northeast corner of the Martha Lake neighborhood. It is a large and prominent park in South Everett. The park is popular for its public swimming pool and play structure. It also offer plenty of green space, walking trails, picnic areas, BMX bike track, sports fields, and is home to the park and ride lot. 

Mill Creek

Mill Creek is a small town and one of Everett's neighbors to the south and east.  Mill Creek Town Center is a charming downtown area of this small town with several great restaurants, local boutique shops, larger retail shops, and a Town and Country grocery store. Another great small-town area to take a stroll and enjoy both local and national retailers and many great restaurants.  The town center is within walking distance of some MArtha Lake homes and less than a five minute drive for every home depending upon the time of day and traffic levels on both 132nd and 164th. 

Alderwood Mall

Alderwood Mall is located in Lynnwood less than 10 minutes from the south end of Martha Lake when traffic is light. This shopping mall is one of the most popular shopping destinations in Snohomish County. At Christmas, the area experiences a large increase in visitors from other nearby cities including Everett, Snohomish, Mukilteo, Whidbey Island, Marysville, Lake Stevens, and more. The mall features both an indoor shopping area and an open-air shopping center. You can find many popular national retailers and restaurants including Nordstrom, REI, Macy's, Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang's, and hundreds more. There are several shopping centers surrounding the mall as well that have more national stores such as Home Goods, Old Navy, and Best Buy. It is a premier shopping destination in Snohomish County. Across from the mall is the newer Lynnwood Costco.

Public Schools

The public schools that serve the youngest members of the Martha Lake community are dependant upon which area of the neighborhood a home is in. Some students attend schools in the Mukilteo School District and some students attend schools in the Edmonds School District. Martha Lake Elementary school, for example serve a portion of homes in the neighborhood and is under the supervision of Edmonds School District. 

Martha Lake Real Estate 

Martha Lake offers a very wide range of  real estate styles. The neighborhood has been around since the 1970s but saw a boom in home construction in the early 2000s. Some homes are large offering very sizable half acre and larger lots with more than 3,000 square feet of living space. These homes feel like they are in a hidden forest corner of the city. There are newer communities and townhome communities as well as a sprinkling of condos and townhomes in the area.
